One of the changes quite a few individuals make is converting the factory amber side markers to clear. This is desirable if the car has Litronic headlights as the front turn signals supplied by the factory have clear lenses. Here's the process I used to replace mine. As you can see it is quite easy and anyone should be able to accomplish the task in roughly 5 minutes. The only tool that might be needed is a small screwdriver.

Here's how the car looked as delivered.

The first step is to grasp the edge of the installed side maker.

While grasping the edge give it a firm pull away from the car.

After pulling the side marker all the way out a connector with a spring retaining clip is revealed. The metal retaining clip is also visible.

Simply press the retaining spring in and pull on the connector. It should slip off the side marker without difficulty.

After removal of the existing side marker all that remains is the connector.

Take the clear side marker and slip on the connector while pressing the spring retaining clip.

Slip the front of the side marker into
the front of the cavity. There is a clip on the front of the side marker that latches into the cavity.

If the metal retaining clip on the side marker won't latch and your fingers are too big then just use a screwdriver to press on the clip while pressing on the side marker.

It's a 5 minute job to change both side markers. With Litronic headlights the clear side markers look much better than the factory supplied amber ones.
