Logo Removal

There are mixed views concerning the Boxster logo on the rear of the car. Quite a few people like it. Some don't. To others it's just a matter of practicality. It seems that the logo is easily damaged or broken while washing or waxing the vehicle. While it is possible to order the car without the logo attached (option 498, Delete Model Designation) I chose to have it on the car so I could remove it myself and keep it as a souvenir of sorts. Here's the process I went through.

Here's the car after having just been washed. We're now ready for the task at hand.

The first thing to do is to get some floss. The tape holding the logo on can be stubborn in places. After a few minutes of sawing with the floss the logo comes free of the car. Now for the 'S'.

All that's left to do at this point is to peel off the double-stick tape. After that I used a soft terry towel to remove the remaining residue. That and some elbow grease got the job done in no time. Finished! In my opinion this looks much cleaner. If you still desire a logo just add a spoiler sticker like this one.
